If it were up to the fans, there would be more of the Gilmore Girls and the goings on in Stars Hollow. 84% of demandi’s survey participants think there should be an 8th season and only 12% are glad that the series has come to an end. Asked about just what it is that makes one watch the show, the sense of humour, the witty dialogues and the amazing mother-daughter relationship were named most often.
Lorelai and Rory
Asked which of the two Gilmore girls they liked best, 46% of the participants opted for Lorelai and 16% voted for Rory. A significant 34% couldn’t decide which Gilmore they liked the most. Fans were also asked to state which other inhabitants of Stars Hollow they liked best: Luke Danes got the most votes (62&), followed by Paris Gellar (47%) and Emily Gilmore (42%).
As Rory Gilmore is a bookworm through and through, books are a constantly recurring topic in the series. Asked whether Rory’s hobby inspires them, 40% of the participants admitted that they have read more since watching the series.
Men
Men play an important role in the lives of Rory and Lorelai, so who would be the perfect match for them? When it comes to Lorelai it seems to be a clear-cut case: the vast majority of the participants (81%) consider Luke Danes to be the perfect match for Lorelai. But when it comes to Rory, the fans are quite: 40% think Jess Mariano is the one, but 30% think Rory should be together with Logan Huntzberger.
The post-Palladino Era
When Amy Sherman-Palladino and David Palladino left the show after the 6th season, many doubted whether the series would be able to keep up the quality. According to the majority of the participants these doubts were justified: 50% stated that the first six seasons were better than the 7th season and only 2% think that the 7th season was the best one so far.
All in all, it is safe to say that should there be further episodes from Star Hollows the fans would welcome them with open arms. And as for any possible plans for a Gilmore Girls movie, 84% of the participants said that they would go and watch it in the cinema.
