demandi    "James Bond" survey    James Bond    Your choice    comments

zurück zur FrageComments: Would you like to add anything else about who would have been your first choice?

Eric Bana would be my second choice.
"Before the announcement, I would've liked to see Clive Owen take on the role. However, I've become so interested in seeing Craig's interpretation that if I had to go back in time and cast the part, I'd probably cast Craig.

Of all the actors this survey lists as options, only Clive Owen, Daniel Craig, and Christian Bale appeal to me in the slightest."
Owen was obviously the best man for the job but he refused as he didn't want to be tied down by Sony. He was too big of a star already.
Bale 2nd
Craig has blown any other contenders away. Absolutely out of the water.
"If you had asked me a year and a half ago, I would have said Clive Owen (like a lot of people). Like a lot of Americans though, I was unfamiliar with Daniel Craig.

After having seen a bit of him in the role, I really don't think his casting could be improved upon at this time. Craig is such an exciting choice, I can't believe they actually got him."
Adrian Paul would have been a good choice. Strong and in good shape, the Highlander series probably taught him some good fighting techniques. Shame he never got a shot when Brosnan was around.
They went totally off the scale when they cast Craig. It's still beyond me how Craig was selected for the role with all the other potential actors available. It has just destroyed bond for me. Craig is a good actor but i'm quite put-off by his looks that watching the movie is just not worth it.
I wouldn't mind any actor because it would depend their effort towards the film. If they give the effort Craig did, they would have done well,
"1- Ralph Fiennes
2- Christian Bale
3- Clive Owen"
Clive Owen would have been my main choice but when I heard it was Daniel Craig and thought about it - I thought he would be a great Bond, even though he would be the first blonde Bond.
THEY PICKED THE BEST
Bond can never be anything but Caucasian. Therefore Colin Salmon is an awful choice. I think the films should be close to the books and in the books Bond is Caucasian; you can't change that; it'd be wrong and a travesty if it happened. The casting of Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter made me mad since in the books Leiter is described as having blond hair and a wiry stature. Wright was no where near wiry, nor did he have blond hair.
I would of also like Pierce Brosnan to continue!!!
But I think Daniel Craig turned out to be the right choice.
From your choices above I would have said Christian Bale but I think he is a bit too young at the moment. Maybe when he has finished with the Bat-suit in a few years he could be a good choice. I would have thought Sean Bean would have been a good choice if he hadn't already played a villain and been killed
He is exactly right for the role. Ian Fleming would love the choice.
Clive Owen would be next
Now that I have seen him in the role, I can't imagine anyone else.
I hadn't even heard of Daniel Craig before he was announced as 007. So until that point, I would have gone with Clive Owen.
I can't imagine any of them would be better than Craig, who seems like the logical choice now,
live Owen was very versatile, very classy and very smooth. He exellently portrayed Bond-like characters in The Hire and Croupier. However, his role in movies gets bland and boring and his accent gets repetitive since Closer.
I didn't really know of Daniel Craig until his casting. But once I'd seen him in Layer Cake I was excited and up for giving him a shot at the Bond role.
I honestly would have picked Ewan McGregor because I've seen him in quite a few other films and I really enjoyed him. Craig wouldn't have been my first choice simply because I didn't even know he existed, I've never seen a film with him in it.
Adrian Paul looks like a young Connery. It would be interesting to see if he could do it.
ewan was an obvious choice isnt lenny henry in the running?
Would have gone for Clive Owen, but take it all back now I've seen Daniel Craig in the role - very impressive!
I would have preferred Clive Owen, but never mind.
"Anyone that picks Colin Salmon is not a true Bond fan. 007 has a french-Scottish heritage and is white. Hair colour I can forgive but different skin colour? We'd have a white John Shaft next, but no, I don't think mixing Shaft's heritage would be allowed.
"
i have seen Clive Owen on screen aqnd film for years and always thought he would make a great bond, the picture you have here for us to look at and choose, shows that in picture form alone he would have made an awesome Bond
"this one would have been my choice he is dark and good looking
very handsome cute and cunning"
Ralph Fiennes is a good actor and I would have been willing to see what he could have done with the role.
No
time to change from stereotype
New Bond film is terrific. Proper stunts More intrigue and tension. Brilliant.
As a Coventry kid myself, I always wanted Clive Owen to play Bond
Clive Owen would have made a good Bond, but Daniel Craig played Bond brilliantly.
Add Gerard Butler
I supported Daniel Craig from day one.
Craig is great!
he had to be british
Not much competition- Craig is by far the most talented and versatile actor of the bunch
he is more like James Bond to me for he has a great voice and is smooth and handsome
I think Daniel Craig has proved the critics wrong now that the film has been released to virtually universal acclaim.
DC looks right; it can't be someon too young
no other comment - daniel craig!
no,the right choice was made
Daniel Craig was fantastic as Bond. I was so suprised.
Nothing
Jonathan Rhys Meyers will be perfect for the role in a decade; Ralph Fiennes would be as good as Daniel Craig right now but will soon be too old; none of the others would be remotely convincing.
He looks the part
wish i was an actor
You have to be something special to be Bond and the fact that Daniel Craig was probably nobody's first choice is a masterstroke in itself. Should have darkened his hair though.
I think Bale would have been a better choce at the time but I believe Craig has amply repaid the faith shown in him, now we've actually seen him in action.
George Eades from CSI
They picked the best!! Daniel Craig nails it.
Most of these other candidates are laughable. James Bond is not just a pretty face. Daniel Craig ticks all the right boxes
before seeing I would have maybe gone with Ewan Mc Gregor but after seeing the movie Daniel Craig was excellent choice
I think Adrian Paul would have been an excellent choice
daniel craig is really good - but not the expected choice
The right choice was made - Daniel Craig is the best Bond.
pleased I was not casting cos I would have got it wrong!
mmm trunks
Daniel Craig is Bond
Wouldn't have thought about casting Daniel Craig personally but so glad they did.
Whilst there are some superb actors amongst the above, Craig is the only one suitable for the Bond role
or Clive Owen
Craig was certainly the best out of this bunch.
clive owen looks like a james bond
However i was unsure about him until i saw the movie
Rufus Sewell read all the Bond novels for Penguin books in abridged versions (except for The Spy Who Loved Me -- the only Bond novel to be written in first person, and by a female; this was read for Penguin by "Bond, Samantha Bond").
I'm amazed that prettyboy Orlando Bloom was even considered. Rupert Everett would have been a disaster. Colin Salmon is already part of the franchise
They found the right guy.
Even though Craig wasn't my initial choice, he did a good job.
Most of the above would have been poor choices; I mean, Robbie? Seriously?
Hugh Jackman was my first choice...then Clive Owen...but I threw in my support for Craig when he was nominated because of his acting ability.
"Where is Gerard Butler?
"
It just couldn't get better than Daniel Craig as James Bond.
Although delighted with Craig, at the time I wanted Pierce Brosnan to do one more movie then retire.
I must admit that I was in favor of Clive simply for his resemblence to Sir Sean Connery. After seeing the film (4 times and counting) I have to say that the producers made a shrewd choice.
Layer Cake, Archangel, Munich.
The actors aside from Daniel Craig weren't offered the part--These are just tabloid rumor names created by the sun. The thought of Clive Owen saying, "Bond. James Bond", in that monotone voice of his should scare any one right out of thinking he was good for the part!
This was before I knew about Daniel Craig
By casing a young, talented and sexy unknown actor in the role, there would be no major baggage that he would bring to the part and would, in effect, BE James Bond for a new generation. He should also be as Ian Fleming described him in the book, no swipe to Mr. Craig intended.
I think Clive Owen would've made a better Bond than Craig.
Clive Owen was my initial first choice. He looked great in a tux, and I just saw Bond in him. But I do love the choice of Daniel Craig as James Bond. It worked very well. The producers knew what they were doing!
Second choice would have been Clive Owen
