BOND BACK TO BASICS WAS A MUST AN EXCELLENTLY DONE AND PORTRAYED
Daniel Craig has a great physique. He fits into the role excellently. I think the torture scene was fairly close to the book and well executed by the director and actors. I think that scene should have been a bit longer like in the book.
I'm Obsessed with it - Bond, Girl, Villianand plot all amazing!!!
Best plot so far! A+++
The best film and the best James Bond !
One of the best Bond movies I have seen in years.
thought I would miss the gadgets, but the this was a dark and fiesty film, keep me glued to my seat - really enjoyed it - one of the best
The product placement detracted from the film. You expect the Aston Martin but Ford really pushed too hard Fords Jaguar Range Rover......
Great film, great way to bounce back after Die Another Day's lackluster plot.
It's about frickin' time they made a Bond movie this good!
good acting. However, no real chase, by car, boat or other. Misses the Bond formula. No gadgets and little humor. Too politically correct.
I was so impressed with CR and haven't felt this excited about Bond in a LONG time. It's most likely a top 5 Bond film.
I love this film as it is more real - Bond relies on espionage more than gadgets, which I like.
PURE EXCELLENCE
"This is a great Bond film. If i could summarize it in one word, this is the word:
A*W*E*S*O*M*E*!
This Bond film is a different Bond film. It has style and class, unlike the previous Bond films. It relies more on drama, love and emotions rather than Cheap CGI and cheesy one-liners.
Daniel Craig is a super awesome Bond. How awesome is he? Let me just say this:
Craig kicks like Chuck Norris, Shoots like Chow Yun Fat, Punches like Jack Bauer, Looks like Steve McQueen, Laughs like Peter Sellers, cries like George Lazenby and smooths like Sean Connery.
Daniel Craig also provides an Oscar-caliber acting. He plays one hell of a Bond, that he makes people want to nominate him for a Best Actor nomination at the Oscars! He has the charisma and that smooth talking vibe we've seen in 60's actors like Connery, Delon, McQueen, and Redford.
The Bond Girls in this movie are just amazing. After all, what Bond film would be complete without a Bond girl? Eva Green is Vesper Lynd, an MI6 accountant responsible to fund Bond during his poker match against Le Chiffre at the Casino Royale at Montenegro. She's not just great with her Job, but she's also great with her looks. Caterina Murino plays Solange, a lady who is a mistress to Dimitrios, one of Le CHiffre's henchman. I tell you, she's a boob shaker! Riding horses in a bikini? What kind of a man who doesn't dream about that? While Murino was the most hottest, but Eva Green was the beautiful and most talented of the Bond girls in this movie. She gave an impressive performance in Casino Royale. She's Tracy Bond meets Anya Amasova, and you quite see that. Although she kicks ass like Michelle Yeoh, but she's the type of lady who's always there when you need her. It's an astounding accomplishment for Green, as she would get more good roles in her future career, just like Jane Seymoure, Michelle Yeoh and Famke Janssen.
The villain is this film is Le Chiffre, a private banker to the world's terrorist groups and freedom fighters. He's more like Yuri Orlov from Lord of War, except that he deals money rather than weapons. He's also a gambler, and uses his winnings to finance terror. That's why Bond needs to stop Le Chiffre, since his winnings could use to deal with Al-Qaeda. Mads Mikkelsen as Le Chiffre was flawed like Jonathan Pryce in Tomorrow Never Dies, but he also did a solid performance like Joseph Wiseman did in Dr.No. In fact, he wore a Nehru suit just like previous Bond villains like Blofeld and Dr.No would wear. It's a known homage to the previous Bond films.
The exotics of Miami, Madagascar, Miami and Montenegro were cool, those film-noir sequences during the beginning of the film was awesome, but there are somethings this film lacks. I'm fine with the absence of Q and Moneypenny(Since both of their appearance were getting annoying after Diamonds are Forever), but this film lacks a few things. Felix Leiter should spend more time with Bond just like in the novel, some of the gadgets like the Sony Ericsson phones must need at least a Q-like feature, and there should be more need for the Bond theme not just in the ending, but also during the action and fight sequences as well.
Still, this is a great Bond, and a major improvement to the almost-dying Bond series. Craig is by far the best Bond ever, and we can't wait for Bond 22. All you Craig-haters, if you think Craig is still not a great choice for Bond, think again. his movie kick Pierce Brosnan's ass!
4.5 out of 5."
Best Bond movie in decades. It's that simple. Craig was amazing, the story was great, the rest of the cast did an incredible job, and David Arnold sold out on his score. You couldn't ask for anything more.
One of the top 5 Bond movies.
"I missed the ""recurring"" things; like the gun barrel with theme at opening.
The theme song was shit."
It's the first film to really try to adapt an Ian Fleming novel in decades. Finally we actually have James Bond back on screen, not the self-aware parody that took hold in the Roger Moore years.
eva green was disappointing
brilliant
The first Bond film I've seen at the Cinema. Excellent
breathes new life into the Bond genre
"Felix should be white.
Hated the gunbarrel sequence, there are not that many grooves in a gunbarrel, they should have stuck with Mauricre Binder's version.
"
four times i have seen this film and each time it gets better and Craig is a great choice.
Saga in the middle as is 20 minutes too long
Brilliant story. Proper stunts. Intrigue and suspense. BRILLIANT FILM
Best ever
Daniel Craig is the toughest looking Bond yet, the fight scenes were really lifelike, with Craig having to change his clothes after a rough episode - a far cry from Roger Moore just dusting of his safari suit!
better than i expected craig is excellent
torture scene was over the top
Definitely in the top four Bond films- proper acting and no silly gadgets make it a real contender for the top spot. However, it lacks the full sophiostication and period charm of of Dr No.
different to other james bond films
Daniel Craig is brilliant
Daniel Was Ok. but No gagets and coolness
It's up there with the classic ones from the 60's - really in the top 3 I think now.
I can now look forward to watching an upto date version on dvd rather than the old black and white version with Peter Lorre
it was far too long
best bond film up to date
It's a bit too long and the poker game is a let down and I don't think much of the title song but otherwise it's excellent
It was a real suprise after the awful CGI Fest of Die Another Day. Brosnan looked bored and gave his worst performance in it. Craig is Bond.
Sticks fairly closely to the book for most of the plot, Daniel Craig is very good
A real return to the feel of the original books with less reliance on gadgets and snappy one-liners.
Fantastic fight scene at beginning of film but film fall flat in the middle
It certainly rates as one of the best Bond films I have seen. Will certainly be going to see it again....and again.....and again
apart from james bond being rescued
Amazing movie was very impressed only thing i didn't rate was opening title and i was slightly confused at the end but over all great film everyone i know who seen it has loved it
An fantastic film that fully deserves its BAFTA nominations. One of the best films of 2006.
can't wait til it comes out on DVD!
miles more action and less cheesy than others
It really brought james bond films back into the game. Perfect new bond, perfect story, even the last line of the film was done so well! can't praise it enough
FANTASTIC ACTING BY ALL
Most exciting bond film yet!
Re-energised the franchise - need to bring back the gadgets though
Poker scenes were too long and boring.
It is very different from previous Bond films and the action is the best ever!!
Really entertaining, we did not believe we had been in the cinema for so long.
would have been better with Pierce Brosnan.
want to watch it again to give full opinion
little bit poor and dissapointing, because of the amount of products advitised, and the way mr craig kept pouting. story line was good though, not much sex or q or violence i felt.
much, much better than i expected. i only went because my son wanted to see it, but i really enjoyed it.
The film followed the novel as closely as possible in light of all the Bond films have been through. It's refreshing to see a return to a more human Bond.
Yes I have seen it 3 times. It is true to the original novel, brought bang up to date with the excellent Daniel Craig in the title roll.
A stunning and totally refreshing return to serious, adult action. I believe that Fleming would have liked the story and Daniel Craig's performance is superb.
The best I've seen in a really long time.
I consider it to be the second best Bond film.
Great story, great casting, great locations. Believable and intelligent Bond film. Stands up well as a film in its own right. Great photography, style and ambience (best since OHMSS). Glad to see the back of Moneypenny and Q and other formula elements. Easily the best Bond film since OHMSS and FRWL.
I didn't like the reboot idea. Some of the characters were under-developed as well.
I enjoyed it, but feel the reaction has been a little OTT. It's not the best Bond film ever and Craig isn't the best Bond ever. The formula has been re-packaged for the times, and this aspect has been well carried out, but there's the danger of Bond losing his distinctiveness if EON continues much further down this road.
A modern classic; the most Fleming-faithful entry since OHMSS. I hope Eon can maintain this very high standard in the future...and hope they continue to mine the novels for unused Fleming elements.
The worst Bond film ever! Not a James Bond film!
Casino Royale is the worst film in the series.
book is still better, but amazing movie!
BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT - OH YES - ITS BRILLIANT. AND DANIEL CRAIG IS 90% OF THE MOVIE'S BRILLIANCE.
Best film since Goldfinger.
Best since Goldfinger
best Bond movie ever.
The very best Bond movie. From Russia With Love is a close second and probably is the most faithful to Fleming simply by virtue of being made during the Cold War era. Casino Royale, whereas it (necessarily) adds a lot of new material to the novel, is perfect for its depiction of Bond and his evolution. Bravo to the production team, writing team and the actors. I can't say enough good things about this film.
The best James Bond film since Timothy Dalton's underrated debut film, the excellent The Living Daylights
It's one of the finest Bond films of the entire series.
An instant classic.
Best bond ever along with Thunderball!
It was better than I expected. Much, much better.
"Each action scenes seemed to be repeated (the two chases and the two major fights are almost re-makes of each other) and there are long dull stretches. It is a stock 007 film bookended with oddities to impress the critics into liking it and thinking it is something different (B&W opening for no reason, no Gunbarrel, odd-looking 007, deleted standard characters, rtc.)
As it is a James Bond film, of course it will make as much money as the last (or a bit more since ticket prices have sky-rocketed up). It is a formula the world loves and patiently waits for."
"Casino Royale is the best Bond film EVER!
"
Casino Royale is the best Bond film ever!
best bond film in a long time
The best bond movie I have seen in years! Fantastic!
