The worst nuclear disaster of all time happened in the Ukraine on the 26th April in 1986. All surrounding areas were polluted to an unimaginable extent. The disaster cost the lives of an inconcievable number of people and even today, twenty years later, people are still suffering the long-term consequences of the radioactive contamination.
Two decades later, there are still questions that remain to be answered:
To what extent has the Chernobyl catastrophe changed peoples’ lives? What do people fear the most when they hear of nuclear accidents? And to which level are the present-day safety standards in nuclear reactors maintained?
In order to answer these questions and more, the information and opinion portal demandi has compiled a survey regarding „Chernobyl and nuclear power“.
demandi conducts a prize draw amongst all survey participants in association with:
- 5 Books „CHERNOBYL HEART – Twenty Years On“ written by Adi Roche and sponsored by New Island Books Online
- 1 Book „Living with Chernobyl“ by Linda Walker and sponsored by ticktock Media Ltd.
